Expert prediction: #9 Brisbane hot spots tipped for 2017 growth

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 18 January 2017

Affordability and sustained, steady price growth will keep Brisbane firmly in the sights of property connoisseurs in 2017.

But some suburbs are tipped to rise above the rest.

Domain Group Chief Economist Andrew Wilson has shared his hot tips for 2017 and northern locales are well represented.

Strong growth in recent years, high sales and high demand put these suburbs ahead of the pack, Domain reported.

Vendors could expect strong buyer interest and investors could expect strong returns from the suburbs below, Dr Wilson said.

Prestige hot spots:

  • Hawthorne
  • Highgate Hill
  • Kelvin Grove

Premium hot spots:

  • Sinnamon Park
  • Toowong
  • Burpengary East

Affordable hot spots

  • Keperra
  • Heritage Park
  • Redcliffe

Dr Wilson tipped Hawthorne to perform best in the prestige market thanks to its proximity to the CBD, Brisbane River and other amenities.

Toowong was tipped to shine amongst his premium suburb selection with an abundance of good schools and neighbouring university of Queensland.

Redcliffe was picked as a hot spot for the second year in a row thanks to continued development and the new rail link.
