We’ve managed Claire’s unit in Paddington for 7 years.
Claire lives in Sydney, works in advertising and negotiates big expenditure deals with the major media outlets for a living.
So when it comes to lease renewals… no pressure (not)!
Claire only owned her unit a short time before moving to Sydney. She was always upfront in that there was a chance her family would lure her back and she’d like it to be just as she left it. So we were very picky about finding her the perfect tenant.
And we did.
Claire’s tenant has rented her property since June 2008. That’s right she’s only ever had one tenant. Claire’s tenant has never skipped a beat on the rent and has kept her unit as immaculately clean as she left it.
Often the compromise with having great tenants can be fairly so-so rental increases. But not with us.
Over the last 7 years, we pushed the limits when the market allowed, covering Claire in the flatter markets. The median rent for a 2brm unit in Paddington is currently $400 per week (CoreLogic Data). Claire’s unit currently rents for $455 per week.
That’s 14% above market. Nice one!
