Market update: Bargain burbs tipped for buyer blitz

by Richard Parker, Sales Manager 4 April 2024

Suburbs with prices below the Brissie median are tipped to see continued strong demand as buyers search for bargains in a growth market.

Here on the northside bargain burbs like Brendale and Taigum both saw double-digit growth in 2023.

And that’s not surprising given they both sit below the greater Brisbane median house price which has increased by more than $300,000 in just five years, reports Domain.

“Prices went from strength to strength in 2023, despite interest rate hikes and cost of living pressures,” it reports.

And with the Brissie medians tipped to top $1 million as growth continues, “now is the time for prospective buyers to zero in on the postcodes that are not only still affordable but high performing.”

Townhouses are also continuing to attract growing interest from buyers who see the appeal of a lower-maintenance, lower-mortgage lifestyle.

Suburbs with lively urban and retail hubs, like Chermside, Aspley and Stafford offer a good mix of unit and townhouse dwellings, as well as traditional standalone homes.

Being open to housing type can open up suburbs with price points that might otherwise have seemed unattainable.
