Brighter Buying

North Brissie burbs best bang for buck

First time buyers should be looking north for quality and affordability, with low maintenance brick homes in popular family suburbs offering great first home buyer value.

The suburb of Fitzgibbon is just 16km from the city and offers a median house price well under $700,000. It’s one of our smaller suburbs but enjoys the amenity of neighbouring Carseldine and Taigum – and it’s close to our retail and commercial hubs here in Aspley and Chermside.

North Lakes has also been tipped for first home buyer value and it’s not surprising. The master planned suburb was designed with the first time family buyer in mind and it remains true to its origins.

“Both suburbs offer brick homes, which can mean lower maintenance with smaller cosmetic upgrades required, as opposed to costly structural renovations typical of older character homes,” Lauren Moore of Moore Buyers Agency told realestate.com.au.

For our vote, we see suburbs like Zillmere, Deagon and Bracken Ridge also offering great value houses, while the lower maintenance buyer might consider a spacious townhouse in Carseldine to be a good value first time buy.
