We love a ‘best of Brissie’ list so we couldn’t go past a recent article touting the best #11 Brisbane burbs to call home sweet home.

It’s a fine list, thanks Sitchu. Very fine indeed. And as proud north siders we’d like to offer a few more suburbs that are neighbourhoods we know well, and which offer some different price points for value hunters.

Check out the Sitchu list of the best suburbs to call home:

  1. Ascot – affluent and village-like with a horse racing culture.
  2. Kangaroo Point – idyllic scenery, skyline views and inner-city foodie hot spots.
  3. Newmarket – neighbourly and perfect for an active lifestyle within easy reach of the city.
  4. New Farm – well-heeled and home to trendy young professionals.
  5. Ashgrove – a vibrant community feel close to the city with Queenslander homes.
  6. Paddington – hilly streets, quaint workers cottages and a sought-after postcode.
  7. Alderley – pretty as a picture with bushwalking nature reserves and café proximity.
  8. West End – arts, nightlife and entertainment with a melting pot of cultures.
  9. Indooroopilly – close to top secondary schools, dotted with parks, cafes and shops.
  10. Sandgate – a laid-back coastal lifestyle just 25 minutes from the city.
  11. Wilston – convenient, picturesque and family friendly.

Check out our very own list of the north side’s finest:

  1. Chermside – the CBD of the north, with a bustling Westfield and entertainment precinct.
  2. Stafford – gentrifying at pace, you’ll find coffee, city views and affordable buying.
  3. Aspley – family friendly, great schools, shops and cafes aplenty … and yes, we’re biased, but when you find a good thing, why not tell everyone about it!
