Brighter And some

Property news all wrapped up for 2015

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 15 December 2015

The 2015 property news world has had headlines for everyone: investors, renovators, first home buyers, second and third home buyers and even celebrity spotters.

It’s been a year where Sydney’s booming market dominated media commentary, while Brisbane recorded slow and steady growth. Brisbane ends the year in a classic hare and tortoise tale, as buyer sentiment continues to swing north with Sydney passing its peak.

Renovators got yet another fix of The Block. While the show itself proved intriguing, the post-auction commentary was even more entertaining, with one journo claiming buyers of The Block apartments needed psychiatric help. Harsh words indeed!

Speaking of straight talk, our favourite hotspotter Terry Ryder unleashed some classics in 2015, imploring the “twits, turkeys and walking talking egos” of the property commentating world to look deeper than broad-brush averages when analysing market performance. Spot on Terry.

And Aussie celebs kept us busy with their property transactions, including Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges, rugby star Quade Cooper and radio co-host Hamish Blake. News in last month is that Chris Hemsworth is moving back to Australia with the purchase of a Byron Bay home. Ladies – looks like all our Christmases have come at once!
