This northside suburb grew 25% in a year

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 26 September 2019

This suburb’s local football club has given us stars like Billy Slater and Greg Inglis, its state school produced the Bee Gees, and it has tonnes of pineapples.

Any guesses?
It’s Northgate, and its most recent claim to fame is that it saw a whopping 25 per cent growth in the 12 months to September, reports news.com.au.
This stellar growth probably doesn’t have much to do with the celebrity links of the Norths rugby league club. But this suburb has plenty of other star qualities that have propelled its meteoric rise.
Northgate boasts an interesting blend of residential and industrial precincts, including the site of the Golden Circle factory.
It has a convenient train station connecting several lines: Shorncliffe, Redcliffe and the Sunshine Coast.
Throw in proximity to the airport, Nundah Village, and popular schools and you get prime northside property just 9km from the CBD.
Nationally, Northgate’s growth over the past 12 months was eclipsed only by Chelmer, which saw 31 per cent growth year-on-year.
Brisbane saw three suburbs in the national top 10 with Ipswich rounding out the trifecta. Adelaide was the only other Australian city to claim three spots in the top 10.
