Tiny Brissie suburb tipped for greatness in 2017

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 7 December 2016

Proximity to transport? Check.
A growing café culture? Check.
A ripple effect? Check.

It might be Brisbane’s smallest suburb but Gordon Park ticks all the boxes for capital growth in 2017.

Proximity to the Clem 7 and Inner City Bypass, new cafes and a ripple effect from the Grange and Wilston have earned it a place on the Smart Property Investment list of 2017 hot spots.

That’s probably not surprising to the 4,000 or so people who already call Gordon Park home. The north side suburb, about 5 kilometres from the CBD, is a favourite with families and couples.

For lovers of Queenslanders you’ll be pleased to know these grand timber homes are in no short supply. Homes come with a median price tag of around $735,000 and units $370,000.

What it lacks in retail and business districts of its own it makes up for with green space particularly its parks along Kedron Brook.

The Smart Property Investment 2017 list of hot spots included five picks from Queensland:

  • Gordon Park
  • Taringa
  • Mermaid Waters
  • Maroochydore
  • Sunrise Beach.
