Brisbane’s #10 most liveable suburbs revealed

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 21 November 2019

New research on Brisbane’s most liveable suburbs has handed a decisive victory to the north side with 19 of the top 20 best burbs all north of the river.

The new Domain Liveable Cities study rated 260 greater Brisbane suburbs based on lifestyle factors including cafes, schools, public transport, employment, traffic congestion, crime, walkability, open space, tree cover and proximity to the coast or beach.
After some clever number crunching from Deloitte Access Economics and Tract Consultants, our top Brisbane suburb has been revealed as Alderley.
So what makes this burb so great? Superior public transport links and open space caught the attention of the Deloitte analysts. No doubt the convenience of a major supermarket and a pub helped too.
But we also rate its hidden gems like Genki Mart Japanese supermarket and the Ploughman craft brew specialists. For beauty enthusiasts, check out Riise Brows… but we digress.
Stepping out into the middle ring, the perennially popular Stafford (#37), Chermside West (#41) and Zillmere (#47) all ranked well inside the top quartile of the 260 burbs on the list.
Who took the wooden spoon? Poor old Archerfield came in at #260. We bet aviation enthusiasts across Brisbane beg to differ.
